Research done by NSZ / SNI with 804 micro-companies and SMB's shows that 28% of company invoices remain unpaid at the due date (*).
Knowing that the accumulation of unpaid invoices is the main reason for about a quarter of the bankruptcies, the number of unpaid invoices to companies is still too high.
"Still, today's payment behavior is a lot better than in 2012 and 2013, when similar research showed 4 out of 10 invoices remained unpaid at due date", explains Chris Mattheeuws, chairwoman of NSZ / SNI.
However, the number of invoices that remains unpaid 3 months or more after the due date, has normalized between 2012 and 2017: this is the case for 1 out of 10 invoices.
