Did you receive an invoice with a QR-code from POM? Great! By scanning the QR-code with your phone, you can easily pay your invoice.
Just follow the steps below:
Step 1: Scanning
Look for the QR-code on your invoice. They usually look like the example above.
There are 3 possible ways to scan this code:
- With the Payconiq by Bancontact app or with a banking app from Belfius, BNP Paribas Fortis or KBC/CBC.
- With the camera app on your smartphone (works for all iPhones and most Android devices). After scanning the QR-code, click on the link or the QR-icon that will pop up on your screen.
- With a QR reader app.
The payment data will be automatically filled in. You'll be directed to a payment page where all the details of your invoice will be shown (amount, structured communication, beneficiary, due date).
Step 2: Making the payment
Through this pay page, you'll have several possibilities to pay your invoice (the beneficiary of the invoice controls which payment methods are made available):
- Pay directly (via Bancontact, Payconiq, Apple Pay, iDEAL ...)
- Pay on due date
- Pay in multiple instalments
- Pay via direct debit
If you choose to pay directly with Bancontact, you can either pay mobile with the Payconiq by Bancontact app, with your banking app (if this app integrated the Bancontact functionality) or by using your card and card reader.
The Payconiq by Bancontact app is available for 20 banks in Belgium. The leading banks Belfius, BNP Paribas Fortis (as wel as subsidiaries Fintro and Hello Bank), KBC/CBC and ING have integrated this functionality in their own banking apps.
The maximum amount that you can pay via Bancontact is restricted to the limit that is imposed by the app you use. For the Payconiq by Bancontact app, the maximum amount per payment is currently € 1,500.
If you make the payment with your banking app or with your card and card reader, you'll be limited to the cap that your bank uses for Bancontact-card payments. Most banks apply a standard limit of € 2,500 a week. Please consult the general terms and conditions of your bank for more information.
